Gonna Start Vertex Painting to Wrap Up the Interior Structure





Update 9-25-13: So apparently I forgot how to mesh/vert paint in UDK. Took me about an hour to get the material set up correctly. And I STILL have to go back in an edit the falloff for blending!

Updating in Progress

Why oh why did I tear the roof off of this thing? Idk... I think my scene was too boring. This makes it more fun :)



btw, the fire particles will look a lot cooler when I make them and I'll have them emitting their own light too.  Oh and the default skybox materials in UDK need some major readjustments or I'll break down and make that as well.

School Mascot

As it turns out I need a mascot to make the whole project more believable. I want something that will keep the theme of the project like a bat, ghost, witch or something. Or maybe this could be a good area for an easter egg like the fighting wookies or Slimer from Ghostbusters. Could be fun :)

School WIP

Got some walls, windows, doors and floors setup with some placeholder textures.

I'm going to be concentrating most of my time and work on the southwest corner of the school (the area where the floor is blue and purple) to showcase what the game will look like by the the end of my senior year.

This section of the school will have a small office building, a bathroom, a few science classes and regular classrooms, a good section of hallway and a staircase.


Style Guide / Mood Board



I want to aim for a fairly ruined school but not one that's been weathered (I want it to feel recently damaged). Also, I'd like to achieve the desaturated and grainy movie style of Left 4 Dead and the effects, lighting and fullness of The Last of Us.
